• Create greener solutions to prevent further global warming
• Enforce water pollution laws and come up with new filtration systems that keep our oceans clean
• Gather more organizations that can help the homeless get their lives back together by training them to prepare for jobs.
• Fund more research into finding a cure for cancer
• Unite countries to take a stand against ISIS

I chose my top world problem to be the first in the list of the five because I believe that if we don't help take care of the world we live in, then mother nature is going to keep fighting us back for the damage we've caused and with natural disaster occurring, we can't continue to look for cures to diseases if we run out of resources and we can't try to bring peace to a world if we then end up no world to fight for.

I believe my top solution is the most implementable because we live in a technologically advanced world where we are already creating greener solutions to take care of our earth, its just a matter of making these solutions more available to everyone and educating the public on their options when it comes to using energy and recycling. 

World's Biggest Problems

1. Water conditions is Flint
     The city's water isn't clean and has been reported to contain high levels of lead.
       Solution: Create a new water filtration system that can be installed immediately.
2.Global warming
    2015 has reportedly been the hottest year
      Solution: Creating more green solutions
3. U.S. stock market down
     The stock market is down more than three percent due to falling oil process and economic worries
      Solution:
4. Syrian refugees migrating due to political situation in Syria
     Solution: Finding a way to bring peace to their community
5.ISIS attacks across the world
    Attacks conducted by ISIS have killed hundreds
6.Ocean pollution
    by 2025 there will be more garbage than fish in our oceans
     Solution: Enforce no pollution laws
7.Fatal police shootings
    Withing the past two years, fatal police shooting have highly increased
     Solution: Require for police officers to wear cameras while on duty.
8;Poverty
    Homelessness is rising and people around the world are living in harmful conditions
     Solution: Gather more organizations that can help these people get their lives back together by training them to prepare for jobs.
9. Domestic violence
    Celebrities get away with it and so do other men because women are either afraid to come forward or the law lets them off with a warning
    Solution: Make a no tolerance law against domestic violence.
10. Cancer:
      Solution: fund more research into finding a cure
   

Bug List

1. Publix lines on Sunday afternoons
    Not enough cashiers
2.No parking at the South West Rec Center on weekdays around 7PM
    Not enough parking spaces
3.Water filter needs changing every 3 weeks
    Filter is too small
4.Being able to hear my roommate in the kitchen cooking with her boyfriend at 11PM
    Walls are too thin
5.When my food gets stuck onto a "non-stick" pan
    False advertising
6.My boxed lettuce going bad in less than a week
    Condensation in the box keeps the lettuce wet from the cold of the fridge
7.Not being able to reach my phone from my bed comfortably
    Cords are too short
8.Being immediately overwhelmed when walking into Pier1
   Store set up is not very organized and the aisles are tiny
9.My clothes still being damp after the second round in the dryer
    Dryer only has two settings and neither work well
10.My vacuum spitting dirt back out
    Filter is far too small for size of vacuum
11.My smoke alarm going off every time I sautee something
     Fire alarm is too sensitive

Coming up with this bug list was really challenging for me because I'm a pretty laid back person and I don't usually get bothered by too many things. I had to really think if the things that make me go "ugh" and complicate situations for me.

Carolina Lafuente: An Introduction

Sometimes I cook at 3AM for my friends and I after a night out

My name is Carolina Lafuente and I was born in Chile but I was raised in Miami since I was 8 months old. I am a journalism major at the University of Florida and my outside concentration is business. I eventually want to end up in the public relations field, but I feel that in order to be the face of a brand, you need to know how they are created.

Apart from this, I also love cooking and would like to someday open up my own restaurant that serves healthy, yet still delicious meals. And for those who want to indulge, I want to have a large selection of desserts because I feel there isn't enough restaurants that serve more than just ice cream and key lime pie.

My favorite thing to cook/ meal of the day is breakfast. I've even began my own hashtag on Instagram (#InTheKitchenWithCaro)

I've traveled back to Chile often and I have also been to Paris, Normandy, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Big Sur and Chicago. I hope to travel more this year. I am such a foodie that each place I visit inspires me to create new dishes from the restaurants I have visited.

Each travel also brings me an opportunity to photograph new foods. About two summers ago, my best friend and I began a food Instagram page called Foodmuenster and today, we've grown to 11k followers and are beginning to get requests for sponsored posts from food brands.

My Entrepreneurship Story

Me in middle school

In middle school, I believe it was seventh grade, my teacher assigned us to groups with other students in the class. I can't remember the name of the class at the moment but she had us create our business. We were given a business manual that we had to fill in and each student in the group was assigned a position within the business.

I came up with the idea of creating a fashion brand, a clothing line, therefore I was assigned the CEO position so I had to come up with our mission statement and basically create the basis for our brand. After about a month we needed to not only complete this business plan but also give a presentation in front of the entire middle school and professors.

In the end, my group and I received an A and one of the teacher's commentaries on our presentation was that I could sell snow to Eskimos, which made me feel really good,

I enrolled in ENT3003 because although becoming a business owner may sound cool, I know its not as easy as a seventh grade project made it seem, even though that wasn't actually that easy either. I want to get to know what it truly takes to become an entrepreneur and get through the obstacles along the way.

I'm hoping this course will help me build the confidence I need to be an entrepreneur and understand where other entrepreneurs come from.
